2010/2011 New mechanical organ for Reformed Church in Krabbendijke, Netherlands

 First design

Trick picture montage finished product  Krabbendijke

The disposition and design of this organ is to create optimum accompaniment for a full bodied singing congregation.  The organ is as honest as it can be with no borrowing, duplications or anything that cannot be seen or heard. The instrument is completely mechanical in nature.

This organ blends perfectly with the building and its acoustics, with round pipe towers, rich wood work, showing pipes with a rich content of tin and very elegantly cut woods around it. The organ is blended in with the front of the balcony of the church.

New pipe organs are "conceived' and a lot of factors have to be taken into consideration in order for these works of art to be functional and successful. It takes 1-2 years just to design a rather small organ with advisors, architects and approval from several stages of the committees.  Our organ builder would like you to add us to the list of possible candidates for a design. Please call 866.631.6696 or e-mail us for a preliminary discussion about the possibilities.

The wood cuts are made only after consulting with the advisory committee and made by a wood cutter that has been appointed jointly by the organ builder and the committee. The wood will be solid linde wood and will be painted with double bladed 22 carat gold accents.

The keyboards will be built on the right side of the organ and will present 2 manuals of 54 keys each, C to f 3.
The sides and canvas of the keyboards will be made out of solid ebony in late19th century style. The lower keys of both the keyboards will be inlaid with ivory and the semi keys will be presented in ebony.

The stop knobs will be turned from the same piece of solid wood as the sides of the keyboards, in the centre round pieces of ivory will be placed where the names of the stops will be featured. The names of the stops will be featured in 22 carat gold over painted black tablets.

The stops will be situated in two rows high over the music desk of the keyboard, with the pedal stops situated on both sides of the keyboards, which is normal in Europe. The organ bench will be featured in solid oak.
